Lady Mocs ace three in a row

For the first time in their 30-year history, the Lady Mocs have started their season with three-straight wins - each with 9-0 victories. The team is receiving help not only from their three-time All-American senior Senka Softic, but also from other returning players and fresh faces to FSC's courts.

The softball takes one bad hop off the infield dirt or the golf ball rolls 360 degrees around the hole. Are these forms of luck? What about those simple, but welcomed errors by an opponent? Are luck and coincidence factors in winning decisive games or championships or do the teams raising the trophy at the end of the season have certain fundamentals in common that make them great? There are three Florida Southern College head coaches that have led their teams to a national championship - Chris Bellotto of the softball team, Robbie Davis of the women's golf team and Doug Gordin of the men's golf team.

Lady Mocs begin with four wins

Softball

The Lady Mocs are off to a perfect 4-0 start this season thanks to their dominating defense and resilient offense. The team defeated Northwood (FL) 3-0 and 12-4 in a doubleheader. In their first game of the doubleheader, sophomore pitcher Christine Clark shutout Northwood during the first six innings of the game.

Mocs defeat Rollins in season opener

Lacrosse

The Mocs started off their season with a 12-7 victory over their Deep South Conference rival - Rollins College on Saturday. The Mocs played the Tars in the third annual Face Off For A Cause which benefits the Wounded Warrior Project. Five players each had at least one goal and an array of freshman players led the Mocs in scoring.

Diamonds - not just a girl's best friend

Baseball - my first love. I can honestly say that I have always loved baseball and that might be because of all the memories I have tied to the game. The very first time I ever touched a baseball and glove was when my older brother and his best friends would make me and their younger sister chase balls for them in a pasture that was definitely as green as any MLB field, but definitely not as spotless.
