'Jumper' found lacking

The movie 'Jumper' had a second good week in the box office, and has already made nearly $20 million. This led me to believe that there was hopefully more to this movie than high-graphics action sequences and Rachael Bilson, I was sadly mistaken.
The movie, set in the present, centers around the character David. David is a young man who is blessed with the ability to teleport to anywhere he can visualize. As a younger teen, he used his abilities to rob a bank and secure himself financially.
David's life in the beginning of the movie is that of a rich playboy who can go wherever he wants at any time.
Samuel L. Jackson, the cool villain, believes that "jumpers" are blasphemous and that they are an evil that needs to be purged.
The movie could very well have the most eye-friendly action sequences that money can buy this year, but perhaps it would have been better if they used that money to hire someone to write a script with a bit of plot development.
The movie is as poorly written as it is visually appealing.
The only good character in the film that was truly likable, charming and believable, was a small, supporting role portrayed by Rachael Bilson.
If you want to see a movie that will entertain you no matter how intense your A.D.D. is, I suggest you go see "Jumper." Otherwise, the Will Ferrell movie "Semi-Pro"' opens Friday.
I give "Jumper" 2/5 stars or the most delicious eye-candy with the worst aftertaste.
