Men's soccer defeated

For the Florida Southern College men's soccer team, Oct. 24 was a very important game in the tale of their season. With their regular season record at 3-11 and a Sunshine State Conference record of 2-5, the game that belonged to the seniors would make or break the team.
This game marked the final home game for the seven seniors on the team. Prior to the game starting, family, friends, and other spectators applauded as the seniors were recognized for their hard work and dedication to the FSC men's soccer program.
The Mocs played against their conference rival, the University of Tampa (13-2-1). In the first half of the game, the Spartans scored two goals leading the game at halftime. Regardless of the many players that sustained injuries from the season, the men's soccer team worked hard to defend the Spartans.
After the Spartans were up by three goals in the second half, senior Dennie Townsend scored an amazing goal, putting the Mocs on the scoreboard. The Mocs ended the game with a 4-1 loss.
Winning this game was essential for the Mocs to enter the tournament for the Sunshine State Conference regional berth,
Townsend attended UT as a freshman,.Playing against his former school and former teammates had a great deal of importance to him every year.
The 2008 men's soccer went through many ups-and-downs that they team went through. From the trouble of getting the international players cleared to play to the numerous injuries that affected the team, they have given their all this season.
Townsend admits that this year has unexpectedly been "very struggling."
