Shopping guide

As you know, it is that time of year again when friends and family members begin preparing lists for what they want on Christmas Day. Are you one of those people who procrastinate until the last minute to go out and purchase presents for everyone? I will confess that I am one of those. This year, I thought I might finish up my Christmas shopping before Dec. 24. I couldn't imagine a more perfect time to shop than at 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 28, or more commonly referred to as Black Friday.
Of course I was there. Why on earth would I miss a chance to get a great deal?
Personally, I love getting up before dawn to get in line for the door busters at 6 a.m. I get up for it every year and am always ecstatic no matter how little sleep I had the night before. The free stuff and coupons are my motivation, not to mention the awesome deals I get that regular shoppers won't because they were lazy and slept in. Granted, the lines stink because they are long and people are pretty grumpy first thing in the morning, but I just keep in mind that not everyone shares my enthusiasm.
The savings are also something to be thankful for if you are being responsible by keeping to a budget. I have to be honest with you. I did get a bit carried away and all thoughts of a budget were out the window. The deals were too good to pass up and if I didn't grab what I wanted when I had the chance I knew somebody else would and I just couldn't deal with that.
Now, I know not everyone shares my enthusiasm for attending Black Friday, so to all you more reasonable shoppers out there reading this, I hope you planned ahead and either bought your gifts or you are confident that you can order it without any delays. I hope you had lots of luck shopping during Black Friday because I know I did.
In case you have no idea what to do for gift ideas, I will graciously give you a kick-start to get you going. The famous Amazon.com already has the top 10 gift ideas for men and women displayed on their web page. Places like Target and pretty much every other big-named retailer will have checklists prepared for those who don't know what to give.
