The competitions were a lip sync contest, window decorating contest, Skit Night, Southern Olympics, a Gatorade and sandwich donation drive for Sandwich Ministries, participation in Red Friday and participation in the Community Street Party.
"Overall I think it went really well," Krystal Newman, the vice president of student activities, said. "We had a lot of students sign up."
It took about 20 ACE members to put the week together, and each executive member oversaw one event. Newman had the lip sync competition, which she said was "so funny."
When the points for the week were totaled, first place went to Sigma Alpha Epsilon, whose celebrity couple was Romeo and Juliet, and second place went to the Multicultural Student Council, whose couple was Rihanna and Chris Brown.
There was a tie for third place between Zeta Tau Alpha and Sigma Chi, so the trophy went to the team that placed in the most events: Sigma Chi, whose couple was Barbie and Ken.
"To win Founders Week meant a lot to us brothers of SAE. We worked hard and were just glad to see all our hard work pay off," freshman Kent Ward, SAE member, said. "Our strategy was to go for first place, and appeal to the judges' humor more than anything, and we had all the dances sequenced perfectly and rehearsed for multiple hours just to get everything to come together so well."
"To come in second felt absolutely amazing. We were very proud of ourselves, especially because we didn't place at all last year," senior Tara Dames, part of the MSC team, said. "This year, our strategy was to simply be prepared for everything. Our team was small but we participated in every event, giving it our best effort, and it paid off."
