That's what she said. . . about NCAA football

I think I've waited long enough to publish my thoughts on the current NCAA football season.

To be completely honest, I am definitely not impressed with the mediocrity of schedules by numerous undefeated teams. How can a team say that they are the absolute best when they have yet to play a ranked team?

I understand how the scheduling works, but seriously do certain fans have to go around with the choice words of, "Don't hate us because we're undefeated!"

In order to be the absolute best one must have already faced the best and surpassed them. Many teams have yet to do so.

As always let me mention my personal favorite team: University of Miami Hurricanes. During the summer, I said that Miami (FL) would be the surprise team of the year. The recruiting and rapid maturity of their younger players has given them a defense that is defeated only by itself and an offense that both balanced and explosive - shown while playing No. 5 Virginia Tech and No. 15 Oklahoma.

Can someone please explain to me the legitimacy of the No. 1 ranking of the University of Florida? While I do feel that they have a more than decent offense, their defense has not been challenged enough for me to comment on them. When they play Louisiana State University this weekend we'll see if they have what it takes to truly run with the rest of the big boys this season.

University of South Florida what makes you think you can add yourself to Florida's BIG 3? In order to become a part of the big boys club you must have won a national championship or at least have upset a ranked team. Your billboard on I-275 is not necessary. You've played who? You've beaten who? You're going to lose to Cincinnati.

LSU owes a lot to Charles Scott. His two touchdowns and 95 rushing yards gave you that push over Georgia Tech. LSU's humble statistics don't say much, but their drive to reach the end zone just may be what UF has not been challenged with this season.

Ohio State has recovered well since their week 2 loss against Southern California. Terrelle Pryor has plenty of time to perfect his game, but this year so far he has me thinking that he will surpass all projections that were made about him before the season started.
