The Lady Mocs season came to a stumbling end in their final match of the season against Nova Southeastern.
The team fell 27-25, 26-28, 25-20 and 25-21 against their Sunshine State Conference rival.
Senior Julia Borecka who led the team throughout the year ended her Florida Southern career with 24 kills and 12 digs.
Other seniors contributing were Anna Greenwood who had 11 kills and Courtney Johnson who picked up the team-high of 19 digs.
Junior Elise Burke assisted 46 times and added another 12 digs to the team's tally.
Junior Kelly Sherman was able to add on another 10 kills.
The team is only losing three seniors, but their losses will impact the team.
Borecka was a key player for the team by consistently putting up double-doubles throughout the season.
Johnson's ability to "dig" deep has not only earned her a top 10 spot in school record books, but helped the team reach success during her tenure as a Moc.
Greenwood's contributions of kills and digs during vital matches will also be missed.
The Lady Mocs ended this season with a losing record in both SSC play (5-11) and overall play (14-18) despite being picked to take second place in the SSC Preseason Poll and 16th in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division II Preaseason Coaches Poll.
The Lady Mocs misfortune began with an eight-game losing streak that began on Sept. 26 against SSC rival Lynn and lasted until Oct. 17 when they defeated West Florida in the South Regional Crossover I tournament.
The Lady Mocs do end the season on a bright note as individual players were able to achieve career highs during the last few games of the season.
Borecka completed her college career with 257 digs and 437 kills.
Burke now holds the second-best assist record in school history with a career total of 4,071.
Burke and Borecka also earned academic honors by being named to the College Sports Information Directors of Amreican/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Volleyball Team.
