The Florida Southern College men's basketball team's season has started and their hope for another Sunshine State Conference champsionship title are dependent on the emergence of young players, as well as the veterans' consistency.

While there is only one senior on the team the returning junior players have the game experience needed to lead the Mocs to a championship title.

There are five key returning plays for the Mocs.

Junior Brandon Jenkins will be one of the team's key playmakers by having the ability to assist and make individual plays. During critical games, his ability to slice the air with 3-pointers helped lead the Mocs to victories.

Junior Terry Jenkins was second on the team and fifth in the SSC with a shooting percentage of .397 He is able to shoot from behind the arc when the Mocs are under pressure.

Senior John "J.T." Thompson is currently the Mocs leading rebounder and averaged 8.8 rebounds per game last season. He was ranked third in the SSC in rebounds. He averaged 11.9 points per game and shot 74 percent from the line.

Thompson is also the lone senior on the team.
