With many resources for students in all stages of their college experience, the Career Center is a helpful tool in the creation of students' future career paths.

Whether students know their major and are unsure ofcareer possibilities or they have absolutely no idea what they want to do, there is someone at the Career Center help students figure it all out.

With a friendly, experienced staff and countless opportunities for students to take advantage of, there is something for everyone.

Located in between the campus post office and the Wellness Center, the Career Center is one of Florida Southern College's commonly overlooked resources. Beyond the doors, there are numerous ways to help students set their future up for success.

The opportunities are endless from choosing a major to successfully writing résumés and everything in between. Students can also access information related to summer internship opportunities as well as local job opportunities.

In addition to the career counselors, the Career Center also boasts its own collection of books related to careers in different majors. The Career Center also has access to various assessments for students to take for free, in order to determine personality traits and skills and how they fit into a career mindset.

Xuchitl Coso, one of the three campus career counselors, is very passionate about working in the Career Center and fully believes in its potential to give students the opportunity for success.
For freshmen, the Career Center is a very useful guide in taking the first steps to choosing an exciting and fulfilling career path.

"We strongly believe all students need to start their major or career planning the moment they step foot in college," Coso said.

She believes that this is important even though first-year students are just getting used to the campus and exploring their new surroundings.

"Each student can start to explore their own set of skills, values and personality traits and learn how to compare their findings to 'real world' experiences," Coso said.
