The team is receiving help not only from their three-time All-American senior Senka Softic, but also from other returning players and fresh faces to FSC's courts.
The team's first win came over Saint Leo. The ladies swept the three doubles matches and followed with taking all six singles matches for the 9-0 victory.
Juniors Nora Baertschi and Veronika Kovacikova started the doubles momentum with an 8-0 victory.
Freshman Andrea Arguello officially began her college career with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles.
Softic added another victory, 6-1, 6-1 in No. 1 singles.
Freshman Agnese Rozite and Softic then added another point for the Mocs with their 8-2 win at the top doubles position.
The team then defeated the University of Tampa in the same fashion.
Baertschi and Kovacikova, Arguello and junior Amanda Carns and Softic and Rozite all won their doubles matches, which gave the team a 3-0 lead.
In their singles matches, all six ladies won their sets with a few straight sets won along the way.
The team's latest victim was Palm Beach Atlantic.
Softic, Arguello and Rozite all won their matches 6-0, 6-0. Softic and Rozite then once againson their top doubles flight.
Kovacikova and Carns also won their sets 6-0 and Baertschi rounded out the final match with a 6-4, 6-4 win.
The Lady Mocs attribute their shutout start to preparation and valuable advice from head coach Trish Riddell.
"Preparation - both mental and physical - are very important because you have to be focused and confident about your shots during the whole match," Rozite said. "Coach also gives us great advice before and during the matches."
The Lady Mocs came into this season ranked 16th nationally as a part of the final fall rankings by the Intercollegiate Association.
Softic is ranked fourth in singles and 17th in doubles with Rozite.
Softic is also a few wins away from becoming the all-time career leader in singles victories.
The Lady Mocs are visiting Erskine College for a three-match trip.
